MS4 Junior, the latest offering from Millennium Solution's software portfolio, is designed to provide customers with a quick evaluation of their AS/400 environment to determine the practicality of a Year 2000 conversion. The impact assessment takes only 3 days and will identify the areas of the system that may be considered non-Year 2000 ready.
MS4 Junior is created to take you through the initial stage of your Y2K project and to enable you to assess the impact that the Year 2000 will have on your system. Armed with the results, you can make a fully-informed decision on whether or not to convert your system.
How does it work?
The main aim of the impact assessment is to establish the status of the database with regard to Y2K readiness. The key criteria to be reviewed are the definition of the data elements and how the date related elements are used by the files. Using MS4 Junior, the data object definitions are scanned for date related elements and this review serves to confirm the correct date format. The resulting data elements are checked for the existence of 2-year values and these are highlighted as the primary point of concern in the Y2K readiness assessment. The final stage of the assessment is to link the non-Y2K compliant date elements back to the data object which use them, which are also checked. In only 3 days, MS4 Junior will provide an accurate assessment of the work required for a smooth transition into the next millennium.
If, after using MS4 Junior, you decide that you will go ahead with the full MS4 year 2000 conversion, Millennium Solutions will deduct the cost of MS4 Junior from the total cost of MS4.
